I think most people look like dancers when photographed underwater. The movements and weightlessness can make everyone look graceful, but for this session we had an actual real life dancer in the pool! My amazing friend Delilah agreed to model underwater, and when she suggested bringing along her ballet pointe shoes I knew we were in for some fun.
Marisa Lux Makeup created this stunning 20’s inspired vintage makeup look for her and we kept saying how in her ballerina outfit she reminded us of one of those antique music boxes with the ballerina spinning inside when it’s opened. I know that Delilah is a very talented dancer and have seen her in action, but I was still impressed with her being able to pose on pointe underwater. I can assure you it’s much harder than it looks!
We then decided to mix things up and go for more of a pinup type of style with this adorable sailor outfit and red umbrella. Posing like a pinup underwater is hard people. I thought it was a little tricky on dry land, but this is next level. I love that I caught a little bit of Delilah’s fun loving personality (and her rad purple hair) in some of these shots! I can’t wait to try it again. We finished up the session with some underwater boudoir with a unique red and white lace lingerie piece I found at a vintage store awhile back. I had been waiting for the perfect time to use it, and I love how it looks in the pool!
Thank you so much to Delilah and Marisa for an amazingly fun day!
