Since my milk bath sessions are so unique and different from a normal photo shoot, I get a lot of questions about how they work. I love explaining everything to each new client, but I thought it might help if I answer questions here for you as well. If there is something I missed, please feel free to contact me!
Fill out my contact form and tell me your ideas for your photo shoot! I get back to you asap with date options and once I get your session fee your date is booked.
I call you on the phone old school style for your consultation where we talk through how everything on the day of your photoshoot will go.

At my in-home studio which is located south of Denver in Parker, CO. It’s an elaborate production and looks a bit crazy behind the scenes, but the final images are worth it. It’s totally private except for me, my makeup artist, and sometimes an assistant to help make everything look perfect! Our all-female team is here to make sure you are comfortable and look amazing.
Yep, the water is warm, just like taking a bath. Most people tell me it feels like a day at the spa!
I have everything here for you including towels and a shower available for after the session. You’ll need to bring a dry change of clothes to go home in, and of course any outfits and accessories for the session. That’s it!
My favorite concepts are ones that are a collaboration between us. I will ask you about your interests and hobbies, plus what outfits you are thinking about wearing, and we’ll see what we can come up with. I’m open to ideas that you may have, although there are some limitations to what will work in this setting. If you have something you really want to use as a prop just let me know and we'll brainstorm! For each session we can do up to 3 colors and different "sets" in the bath.
On average you should plan about 3 hours. I know it seems like a long time, but between having your makeup done, getting comfortable in the bath, and changing outfits and setups, the time just flies by! Plus we’ll be having such fun you won’t want to leave.
Yay! I recommend we do your session around 32-34 weeks. Contact me early to get on my calendar!
It is mostly water. I add epsom salts, essential oils, and powdered milk. If you have any allergies or skin sensitivities, please let me know ahead of time so I can use an alternative.
That’s really up to you and your style. We have a consultation meeting before your shoot where we talk about outfits, so I'm here to help if you are not sure what would look best. I have some wardrobe you can use as well (things like robes and accessories). Typically the water won't harm your outfits, but I wouldn’t wear your one of a kind family heirloom pieces or anything that shouldn't get wet.
I have seriously amazing professional makeup artists who know how to create the perfect look for these sessions. We can talk about makeup looks at your consultation meeting, and you are welcome to bring photo examples of makeup looks you like. As for hair – one of the best things about these sessions is it's just going to get wet so you don’t have to worry about it!
Yes, you can wear contacts! Your face will not be going under the water at all. I don’t think you’ll get splashed… unless you decide to have a dance party while you’re in there. I love a good dance party, so I won’t be mad. Water will most definitely get into your ears though. If you can’t hear me just let me know and I can direct you through interpretive dance, or I’ll just talk louder.
So the good news is that no one does! I will coach you through all the poses. If you can lay in a bath you can do this. You don’t have to know anything ahead of time – just be willing to get a little weird and have fun!
